Shelton Metropolitan Park District (SMPD)

What is the SMPD?
The Shelton Metropolitan Park District, or SMPD, was established in 2010 after Shelton voters approved its creation. The SMPD governs the management of Shelton's community parks, including Kneeland Park, Callanan Park, and the Huff & Puff Trail, as well as a variety of community recreation programs and amenities.
The Park District provides dedicated revenue for increasing recreational needs as Shelton grows and demographics change.

The SMPD is governed by the Shelton Metropolitan Park District Board, consisting of City Council members serving in an ex-officio capacity. The current SMPD President is Miguel Gutierrez and the Clerk is Kathy McDowell.

Meeting Info
The SMPD generally meets quarterly. More information on meeting details can be found on the Agendas & Minutes page.
