Parks and Recreation

The mission of the Parks and Recreation department is to enrich lives by providing recreational opportunities through safe and inviting parks, trails, facilities, open space and by being good environmental stewards.

Staff in the Parks and Recreation department:

• Provide a variety of recreational classes, programs, and opportunities for the community
• Develop and maintain the City's 32 acres of parks and 118 acres of trails and open space
• Serve as staff support for the Shelton Arts Commission and Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee
• Coordinate rentals of the Civic Center and other park shelters and facilities
