What is Flock Safety?
Flock Safety uses stationary Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) cameras to detect and record license plates and vehicle descriptions.

How does SPD use Flock Safety?
The Shelton Police Department uses Flock Safety technology to capture objective evidence without compromising individual privacy. Shelton officers may conduct searches of the Flock Safety database to solve crimes after they have occurred. 

SPD can also utilize Flock Safety real time alerting of vehicles associated with Amber and Silver Alerts, stolen vehicles, and vehicles involved in other criminal acts.
