Shelton Police Receive Our Community Credit Union Donation

The Shelton Police Department would like to extend our gratitude towards our community partner, Our Community Credit Union, for their recent donation of $21,300 for purchasing several FLOCK Safety System cameras.

"We value our continued partnership with Our Community Credit Union," said Shelton Police Chief Chris Kostad. "We appreciate their commitment to the safety of our citizens in Shelton and the surrounding communities."

The FLOCK Safety System is a camera system that can read, and store license plate information of vehicles being driven on roads or highways. The cameras are equipped with automatic license plate reading (ALPR) technology that captures and stores the rear license plate of vehicles for 30 days. If the system detects a stolen or wanted vehicle, an automatic notification is sent to on-duty Shelton Police officers detailing the vehicle's location, a description of the vehicle, and the reason the vehicle is wanted.
