Shelton Police Respond to Tuesday Morning Incident at Shelton High School

At approximately 9:20 a.m. this morning, Shelton Police were advised of a report of firearm discharges in the parking lot of Shelton High School, resulting in a multi-agency response from the Shelton Police Department, Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Washington State Patrol, and the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife.

Shelton High School and Oakland Bay Junior High School were both locked down, and the first officer was on the scene within two minutes of the call being dispatched. It was determined that there was no threat, and the discharges heard were from fireworks.
