Empty Bowls Event Creates Art for a Cause

The Shelton Arts Commission is excited to donate $2,915 to The Saint's Pantry Food Bank, raised by donations from participants at the 20th annual Empty Bowls project.

Participating in this year's event included local restaurants and catering companies Taylor Shellfish, Kern's Kitchen, High Steel Beer Co., CJ's Corner, Wild & Woodsy Catering, and Olympic Bakery & Deli. These establishments generously donated soup and bread for attendees to enjoy.

The Empty Bowls project is a creative effort to fight hunger where participants create ceramic bowls – building them on night one and then glazing them a week later. Participants gather once more at the Civic Center to pick up their bowls and enjoy soup and bread with a $10 donation. All proceeds from this event go to The Saint’s Pantry Food Bank.
